It’s that time of year again. Pumpkin spice latte’s, a roaring fire and piles of leaves filling the streets. What does all this add up to? Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving isn’t just about all these wonderful things I just spoke about, its more than that.
Thanksgiving is a time that we start to reflect on our lives and feel the warmth of thankfulness. It is a time to be mindful, share in our gratitude and be present with our family and friends. I am thankful for so much in my life and I know that you are too.
Pass on You’re Gratitude
As you enjoy this holiday with your family, be mindful and present with your friends and loved ones. Be in gratitude with your life and pass it on to someone else.
Say hello to a stranger walking down the street or maybe stop by to say hello to a neighbor that might be alone for the holidays. Maybe treat the person behind you to a cup of coffee. They will be so thankful at your kindness.
Challenge Yourself to Be Present
I challenge you to be present with your family. Spending the day being present; means that you put down your phone, computer or iPad and just be. Sit in the now and play with your kids. Playing without distractions and looking into the eyes of your children provides a sense of connection that they need and want. Give them that.
Enjoy your Thanksgiving holiday and let’s celebrate and pass on peace and joy. We sure could all use a lot of this right now with all that is happening in the world.
